A few weeks ago the RASD Board of Education asked for help in reducing the spread of COVID in school. This request was so that we would continue to operate with staff and students in our buildings. This mask mandate was in effect through Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 for our K-8 students and staff.
When we return to school on Monday, October 25th, masks will be highly recommended as it has proven to reduce numbers of students and staff out of our building. Our students and staff have done a great job with the request so that we can continue teaching and learning.
As of September 21, the district had 43 positive. As of Friday, October 8, the district was at 28 positive. As of Friday, October 15, the district was at 20. These numbers are K-12 staff and students. Our county numbers continue to remain high and the Board of Education will continue to monitor and make decisions based on our cases and operations to keep our students in school.
I appreciate your cooperation and efforts for our educational community. I hope that the long weekend gives our families a deserved break and that we can try “normal” again next week.
Thanks again,
Becky Cselovszki, Supt of Schools
