My name is Mrs. Rossow (RAH-so). I have been teaching for over 20 years. Last year I taught 5th grade Math and Social Studies at Cedar Mountain Elementary in Franklin. Prior to that I was a teacher of grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the St. Francis School District north of the Twin Cities. My first teaching job was in the Osseo School District where I taught 4th grade.
We live in the country outside of Morgan. My husband and I have 3 kids. Micah is 21, Laura is 14 and Ben is 12. We have lots of birds such as geese, chickens, guinea fowl (Look those up. They're funny looking!) and turkeys. We have several farm cats too.
I LOVE to read! Books are my friends. My goal is to get you infected with the reading bug. If you've already caught it, then we'll expand your reading horizons with a variety of genres. My expectation is that my students always have a book with them that they are reading on a daily basis. Reading is a movie for your mind and takes you to places you can only experience through the written word.
In Social Studies we'll explore the beginnings of our country and the history that has formed what we are today.
What do I expect you to bring to class every day? A terrific attitude about learning and getting to be part of such a great school!
A book you're reading.
Any materials you know you need to be successful.
