Monday Minute for March 9, 2020

*I Love to Read Week will be this week, starting today.  This is a week we celebrate all the hard work we’ve put into reading.  This is a great time to start or renew a commitment to reading each day.  Below are the dress up days for our Magic School Bus theme.

Monday, March 9th-                       Pajama Day

Miss Frizzle and her class have explored the human body and learned about germs. All of Reede Gray encountered some germs and needs to wear pajamas ALL DAY to recover!

Tuesday, March 10th-                     Ocean Explorer Day

Miss Frizzle and her class have explored the ocean many times in the Magic School Bus. Let’s see what Reede Gray looks like spending a day at the beach or in the ocean?  Will there be humans and sea animals in school? (No swimsuits please)

Wednesday, March 11th-                 Rainbow Day

Miss Frizzle and her class have explored rainbows in the Magic School Bus. Let’s make our own rainbow!

  • Second grade- YELLOW
  • Third grade- GREEN
  • Fourth grade- BLUE
  • ADULTS- RED or your grade level color

Thursday, March 12th-                    Outer Space Day

Miss Frizzle and the kids at Reede Gray will be exploring outer space! Will you be an astronaut, star, planet, alien, or black hole?  The options are all out of this world!

*The Redwood Area School District is actively monitoring the Coronavirus Outbreak. At this time there are no known cases in Minnesota. Redwood Area School District is using guidance from the CDC, MDH and MDE to prepare for a potential community coronavirus outbreak. At this time, there are no recommendations for school closures or restrictions. Similar to other viruses, the Coronavirus is most likely spread from person-to-person and less commonly, from infected surfaces. To help prevent this and other illnesses, it is important to practice good handwashing, covering your cough or sneeze, and staying home from school or work when you are ill. If you have any questions regarding the Coronavirus you are encouraged to contact the CDC at 651-201-5414.

*Grandparents/Grandfriends Day will be March 30.  We will start the day at 8:10 with enjoying a small breakfast of juice and muffins in the classroom.  Please enter the building through the main office and proceed to the south gym to check in.  That will be followed by an activity in the classroom ending approximately at 9:30.  From there the students will finish out a regular school day.
