Cardinal Kids Club is a child care option for families with children ages 3-5 years old. We partner closely with the Early Childhood Preschool Program and require that your child(ren) be enrolled in a Redwood Area School District preschool class (Discovery Time, School Readiness, or Ready, Set Grow) in order to be eligible for our Cardinal Kids Club program.

6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday
 Philosophy:
Children learn through play

Peter Gray, Ph.D, defines play in his blog (posted November 19, 2008) as: Self-chosen and Self-directed.  Play is an activity in which means are more valued than ends.  Play has structure, or rules, which are not dictated by physical necessity, but emanate from the minds of the players. Play is imaginative, non-literal, mentally removed in some way from "real" life, and it involves an active, alert, but non-stressed frame of mind. 

Children's learning is enriched when they are given choice and it is meaningful because they are experiencing what is important and valuable to them. 

 Mission:
Cardinal Kids Club exists to provide an educational childcare experience, that meets the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children 3 to 5 years of age.
Children attending Cardinal Kids Club receive a play based education.  Their skill sets will be well-rounded and will assure they are ready to dive into kindergarten, when the time comes. Your child(ren) also have the opportunity to create a sense of community by building relationships with their same age peers, and their amazing adult staff.

Preschool is offered across the hall, incorporating a convenience factor for busy parents!  Children have exceptional amounts of fun, while expanding on their knowledge, creativity and sense of self. Children are at a vulnerable learning age and we would love to help each child reach their full potential. We look forward to building a relationship with your family!

"Good-to-know" information:

•  Cost is $3.75/hour w/ a 10hr/wk minimum

• Preschool is billed separately.  Families will not be charged in CKC for the time they are in preschool. 

•  Must be at least 3 years old and toilet trained.

• Must be enrolled in a Redwood Area School District Preschool Class. (Discovery Time, School Readiness or Ready, Set, Grow. )

•  A school lunch account may be set up or children may bring lunch from home.

• Children must bring a daily afternoon snack. 

•  We go outside everyday unless the wind chill is below 0 or the heat index is above 100.

•  We have rest time everyday - pillow and blanket is provided.
