JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series said, “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. “ When someone does something we do not like, it is important to tell them in a Respectful way. Courage means choosing what is helpful, right and kind–even when it is hard or scary. Each day we face the challenge of tasks or duties we often avoid because it is hard to do. What if we used Courage and took the chance to take something challenging on? When we want something to work out and it can be hard or scary to do we should push ourselves with risk over regrets. Congrats to Andy Ourada, Redwood Valley Activities Director being named Class A Activities Adminatrator of the year in MN at an MNIAAA Awards Banquet on March 27th. We are thankful for all your hardwork, time and dedication to our Redwood Area Schools students, families, staff and community. Andy says, "I love to see kids find an opportunity to become involved in something they love, as it provides life lessons along the way." Congratulations to our 3/15/24 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. Some ways that we can practice Cooperation when working in a group is to 1. Make sure that everyone understands their job or assigned role. 2. Take turns to make sure everyone gets to share their ideas and 3. Break big projects into smaller tasks and 4. Help each other and share the work! This group of students has been growing this in their Cooperation. RVHS is excited to host our spring conferences on March 18th and 21st from 4-7pm. Families are encouraged to attend the night to see student work, discuss any questions about 2024-2025 course registration and to talk with teachers about how their students are doing this school year. Reede Gray celebrated Read Across America on March 1. Kids took part in a reading and art challenge throughout the week. Then students got to experience the Zoo Man and took part in a book tour with activities. It was a great way to celebrate all the reading these students accomplished!

Congratulations to our 3/8/24 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. This month is all about Cooperation. Cooperation means working together to reach shared goals. It might be working with a group of classmates to solve a math problem or on the playground taking turns on the swings or playing a game of soccer. At home, it might look like helping clean up after dinner or doing the dishes. This weeks group of students are growing their Cooperation character strong skills.
