Reede Gray celebrated Read Across America on March 1. Kids took part in a reading and art challenge throughout the week. Then students got to experience the Zoo Man and took part in a book tour with activities. It was a great way to celebrate all the reading these students accomplished!

Congratulations to our 3/8/24 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. This month is all about Cooperation. Cooperation means working together to reach shared goals. It might be working with a group of classmates to solve a math problem or on the playground taking turns on the swings or playing a game of soccer. At home, it might look like helping clean up after dinner or doing the dishes. This weeks group of students are growing their Cooperation character strong skills. We are very proud of each of them! *Be Respectful *Be Responsible *Be Safe #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #OhHeyReedeGray #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #CardinalCode #Coopearation #OyateOwichayakiyeyedo

A group of students enrolled in the RVHS American Indian Education program earned an opportunity to attend one of the last 2024 matinee performances of Jersey Boys at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. They enjoyed a delicious meal, timeless songs and the experience of a large scale stage production. After the show, a few of the students were lucky enough to speak with three of the main actors and capture a photo!

Earlier this school year, Senator Gary Dahms visited Mr. Kaupang's College Political Science class. To learn more about the legislative process students created a bill to present to Senator Dahms. Madi Merten's bill has been selected to be brought to the Senate this spring for consideration to possibly become a Minnesota statute!

Congratulations to our 3/1/24 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. Being truthful in what you say and do is important everywhere we are--home, school and in the community. Honesty is one way we build trust. It is important for us to be truthful with everyone around us. Being Honest helps us build stronger connections with each other. The RVHS Criminology class went on a field trip to Kato Escape Rooms in Mankato, MN. They successfully escaped from two rooms where they had an hour to complete each one. The first room was an ancient Mayan Temple theme where they had to decode Mayan numerals to get into the tomb, work with symbols to unlock boxes, and eventually manage to get unhandcuffed from each other. The other room was Sally's Saloon where they had to work with multiple locks, codes, ciphers, and puzzles as time was running down to discover Sally's treasure and escape in time. The students put their investigative skills to use in these two rooms and demonstrated how they could work together as a team. They were also great communicators especially in times of stress when there were only minutes left on the clock. A day well spent at Kato Escape!
