Congratulations to our 4/4/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. This month, our character trait is Courage. Courage means choosing what is helpful, right–even when it’s hard or scary. When we want something to work out and it doesn’t it can be hard, but it is better to take the risk than regret not taking the chance. This is often how we grow and get better at things. We are so proud of how hard our students are working on growing their Courage. Keep it up RG Cardinals. It’s a GREAT day to be a Cardinal! #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #Courage #Woohitike

Congratulations to our 3/28/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. As we get ready to turn the page to a new word of the month, let us recap the importance of using Cooperation at school, in our homes and in our community. It is important that when we find our talents it is important to reach out to Cooperate with others to build something bigger than we can do on our own. Anytime that we are working together with others to reach a shared goal we are using Cooperation. Keep it up RG Cardinals. It’s a GREAT day to be a RG Cardinal! #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #Cooperation #oyateowichayakiyeyedo #YouHelpPeople

The RVHS DECA chapter is one of 4 Minnesota high schools to earn recognition for their work on DECA, Inc.'s Advocacy Campaign initiative. This initiative asks DECA chapters to find creative ways to advocate for DECA and Career and Technical Education (CTE) in schools. During the month of February, CTE Month, the RVHS DECA chapter coordinated several events and advocacy activities including a letter writing campaign to their local legislators, an ice skating fundraising event at the RACC, a community service project stuffing envelopes for A Child's Place, a CTE bulletin board in the high school, and attending a meeting with the school board to advocate for DECA in our school.

I am thrilled to share that out of approximately 220 agricultural education programs across Minnesota, Redwood Valley FFA has been selected as a Top 10 Recipient for the National Chapter Award! This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of our chapter in implementing the mission and strategies of FFA. This award reflects our commitment to improving FFA chapter operations through the National Quality Chapter Standards (NQCS) and our Program of Activities (POA) that focus on growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. To submit an award application, we have to plan and facilitate at least 15 events over the course of the year. Some events to highlight from this past year include; the Medicine Wheel Garden, Advocacy Rummage Sale, Alumni & Supporters Meal, and teaching Farm Safety to area schools. We will find out our official placing at the State FFA Convention, April 28-29th. Our application will also move onto Nationals later this spring. This award would not be possible without our FFA Officer Team! They are the ones who put the time and effort into making sure these events happen and writing the lengthy application. Please congratulate the following students, and our advisors Mrs. Orren and Mr. Maddock, if you see them: President: Morgan Kodet Vice President: Adriel Johnson Secretary: Ella O'Keefe Treasurer: Ashton Stephens Reporter: Piper Rigge Sentinel: Poppy Rigge POA Director: Alexis Altmann POA Director: Addison Schmidt POA Director: Erik Rasmussen Thank you for your ongoing support of our Ag Ed program and FFA chapter.
