Students in RVHS's Intro to Medical Careers class travelled to the Cadaver Lab at SDSU last week. Pictures were not allowed, but students were able to learn about anatomy. Here are some quotes from students: "The cadaver lab was a vivid experience for me. It was definitely one of the coolest things that I have ever seen in my entire life. I vividly remember holding the different joints, front chest plate, livers, lungs, arm, heart, and brain. "Just to see that this is all so real gave me a different perspective on anatomy. I have a lot more respect for anatomy after seeing the entire cadaver experience as a whole. *Seeing the difference between heart sizes was super cool too. Seeing the artificial valve inside the heart was very interesting. So many of these things we’ve seen on models or already learned about, but it is so much different when you get to see them in person on a real part of the body.

Today is an E-Learning Day at RVHS. Consult https://5il.co/1m1uo for an overview of the procedures for an E-Learning Day. Just a reminder that E-Learning work needs to be completed by 3:00 p.m. Teachers are planning about 30 minutes of work for each class, so do not wait until the last minute to get started on it. Failure to complete work by 3:00 p.m. will result in an unexcused absence. If you need help, teachers are available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The other times of the day are set aside for them to prepare/evaluate student work. The HS Office is also open until 4:00 p.m. Let us know if you need assistance.

Congratulations to our 12/15/22 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. Our Character Strong focus this month is on Empathy. Empathy is one way that we can show Kindness to others. It means understanding and connecting to others peoples feelings. We can connect with others in many ways like listening carefully when a friend or family member is telling you something about themselves, or being a friend when someone is sad or excited and showing that you want understand how they feel. Our students this week are growing in their Empathy each day. We are very proud of each of them! *Be Respectful *Be Responsible *Be Safe #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #CardinalCode

Congratulations to our 12/2/22 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. Our Character Strong focus this month is concluding on Gratitude. As important as it is to feel Gratitude, it is also important to show others that you are Grateful. Showing your Gratitude to others will make them feel appreciated and cared for. An easy way to show someone that you are Grateful for this is to simply say, “Thank You” and tell them why. Taking the time to notice what others are doing not only feels good to them, but helps one self to be more positive too. Our students this week are growing in their Gratitude each day. We are very proud of each of them! *Be Respectful *Be Responsible *Be Safe #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #CardinalCode

On Wednesday, students in Krista Zeug's Intro to Medical Careers Class learned firsthand what it takes to be a Flight Medic. A Life Link helicopter landed in the High School parking lot, allowing students to explore the helicopter and equipment, and ask questions about this unique career path.
