Today students in Welding, Workplace Communication and College Intro to Medical Careers were visited by Minnesota West professors. Topics covered included demonstrations and discussions about careers as a Diesel Mechanic, communication exercises through the lens of a Powerline worker and casting activity as well as discussion of careers as a Medical Assistant. It was a busy day full of hands-on learning!
Last week 10th and 11th graders had the opportunity to attend the SMSU Career Expo. Students were able to tour the SMSU campus, learn about in-demand careers in Southwest Minnesota, and explore interests through over 100 different interactive exhibitors.
Students in Ryan Dixon's Dakota Language class have been making signs to place around the school. Thanks to Ella O'Keefe, who made this sign for my office. In Dakota, it reads "The School Leader's Name is Mr. Jorgenson). Awesome job RVHS students!
Congrats to Annie Hammer, a senior at Redwood Valley High School, for receiving an academic honor from the College Board National Indigenous Recognition Program. Annie was within the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT assessment takers in Minnesota, earning her academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs! We believe there’s so much that makes our students unique and that make them an asset to colleges and scholarship programs.

Congratulations to our 9/29/23 Reede Gray Cardinal Code Shoutouts this week. Respect is seeing good in others and treating them with care. Using Respectful words might look like apologizing when you do or say something that hurts them. It is important for each of us to THINK ( is it: true, helpful, inspiring, necessary and kind) of how our words and actions make others and ourselves feel. We are very proud of each of you for growing in your Character Strong habits! *Be Respectful *Be Responsible *Be Safe #OhHeyReedeGray #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #CardinalCode #BeKind #Ohoda

Respect means seeing the good in people and things and treating them with care. Seeing good in others can mean that you look for things you like or appreciate in people-whether they are similar or different from you. This week's RG students are growing in their Respect each and everyday! We are so proud of each of them.
